The Story of the Life and

Travels of Jeanette and Ken Coutts.

We have been blessed to travel the world through many cruises and tours, staying in remarkable places and using our timeshares with Hilton and Spinnaker in luxury accommodations throughout the world.

We have recorded our earlier travels through kmjacoutts.com “Our Wonderful World.” This new webpage and blog will update our travels from late 2025.

We hope you enjoy the remarkable places and activities which we record with a sense of joy and excitement..

Over the last 20 years, we have travelled the world predominantly using cruises as well as holiday tour companies. These travels have been reflected in our first Webpage titled “Our Wonderful World. It reflects our over 50 cruises and the many stays in a wide range of countries.

We have travelled to every continent apart from Antarctica. This appetite for Travel commenced when we lived in Esher, Surrey, England, for more than 2 years in the mid to late 1980’s

These travels were undertaken to visit many historical sites and to again fit in with our ownership of several Timeshares through Hilton Grand Vacation Club and Spinnaker.

We have also used this as a means of revisiting some of the many people with whom we have enjoyed travel experiences.

We have made many wonderful friends on these holidays and cruises and we maintain regular contact.

The Rationale for this new and updated story of our travels and life.

We have enjoyed a wonderful life together, and with our family almost independent and our grandchildren both at secondary school, we believed that we could continue to promote and regularly travel throughout the world, continuing to meet friends, see new historical wonders and be enthused by the Wonders of the World.

However, that was brought into a sharp perspective in Feb, March and April 2025 as Ken was diagnosed with a significant cancer challenge. Back in October 2024, he experienced what he, our doctor and physio believed was a pulled muscle in the lower back. Following 7 sessions of physio, it improved and had almost disappeared; he was back enjoying golf and not thinking of anything else. However, routine blood tests in February 2025, including PSA tests, recorded a change and a significant increase in the reading. Our GP wanted to see Ken immediately had him seen by two specialists the following day.

What followed was a further major testing and assessment process, including MRI and Atomic radiation testing, which concluded that Ken had a significantly enlarged Prostate with a significant cancer issue. But that also led to a diagnosis that the cancer had escaped from the prostate into the vertebrae 1,3,5, as well as the hip and pelvic area. We were initially shocked to receive a Stage 4 Cancer assessment with all of the numbing stories. Our specialists then wanted to see and meet Jeanette, and at that stage, the prognosis was quite poor, but they had strong recommendations as to an extensive Radiation therapy and immunotherapy treatment framework. Not to oversimplify, but to present a confident front, they suggested what they believed to be a potentially likely, favourable schedule of treatments. An initial 5 treatments of Radiation pinpointed to the Hip area, then followed by 25 further Radiation treatments to the Prostate and back area. It is likely to be managed but not in remission.

Concurrently, an aggressive immunotherapy regimen of injections every 3 months in my stomach and Bottom and well as daily immunotherapy tablets < called Xtandi.

My subsequent meeting in Early December, following our overseas holiday and family get-together in Hawaii, showed 0.00 PSA Reading.

I was told by Prof Gary and Assoc Prof Michael to get on and live my life. I was congratulated on being an excellent patient. They believe this can be managed with regular Blood test following 3 monthly injections and daily tablets as medication.

The Impact on our travels.

We now have medical clearance, subject to a quarterly blood test. Ken is Healthy apart from the usual defined side effects, and we can continue to travel.

We are indeed blessed.

This new Webpage will document our travels from late 2025 and beyond.

“We are not gifted artists or webpage engineers or designers, but we seek to record our travels as a reflection of what we see and do together.

Whatever it is, the way we tell our story online can make all the difference.”

This whole approach to our travels and home life and the many friendships gives us both joy and excitement to continue the challenges as we progress through the more senior years. We are unable to do many of the tings we did previously, step climbs and difficult walks over challenging terrain are now behind us.

We must calibrate the physical activities associated with our holidays and flights over the still enthusiastic mental images which our mind creates.

The simple facts are as we commence holidays and life in late 2025 that what was simple and achievable is no longer. We are blessed to enjoy reasonable general health ( following Ken’s recent cancer challenges) , but that only accentuates the planning processes requires to enable timely and deliberate assessment of cruises, the planning of flights and the best use of our memberships and professional support.
